ESIP Winter Meeting: January 9 - 11, 2018

Welcome to the 2018 Winter Meeting for the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP)! The 2018 theme is Realizing the Socioeconomic Value of Data. The theme is based on one of the goals in the 2015 - 2020 ESIP Strategic Plan, which provides a framework for ESIP’s activities over the next three years.

For over 33 years Karl Benedict has had parallel careers in Information Technology, Data Management and Analysis, and Archaeology. Since 1993 when he arrived at UNM he has worked as a Graduate Student in Anthropology, Research Scientist, Research Faculty, Applied Research Center Director, and currently serves as a member of the University Library's faculty as Director of Research Data Services and Information Technology. He has a long standing interest in solving the problems of large-scale data integration and facilitating long-term discovery and access to data through open standards.
